PES School Council

A school council meeting is a gathering where school leaders, teachers, parents, and sometimes community members come together to discuss and make decisions about school policies, resources, and improvement initiatives. These meetings aim to foster a sense of community and ensure that school decisions are aligned with the needs and perspectives of all stakeholders.

Purpose of School Council Meetings:

  • School Improvement: School councils play a key role in developing and implementing school improvement plans, focusing on academic achievement and student well-being.

  • Resource Allocation:  They may be involved in making recommendations on how school funds and resources are allocated.

  • Principal Selection: In some cases, the council may have a role in the principal selection process.

  • Community Engagement: School councils aim to bring the school and community closer together, fostering communication and collaboration.

  • Parent Involvement: They encourage parent participation in school decision-making.
